Scar Recovery Therapy
The scar you will look at every day for the rest of your life.
Most people are told to massage it and left to guess what that means. We start by looking at it properly: how it moves, where it pulls, what stage it is actually at. Then hands-on work with the scar and the tissue around it, and just as importantly, I show you exactly what to do at home between visits, because that is where most of the change happens.
Who it is for
Scars from plastic surgery, a C-section, an injury or any other procedure, especially where the area feels tight, numb or restricted.
Before you come
Come with the area clean and free of oils or heavy lotion. The first visit includes an assessment, so leave a little extra time.
Afterwards
Follow what we agree at the end of the session. Scar work is a series rather than one visit, and I will be straight with you at the first appointment about what a series can and cannot change.
When I will not do it
Not on an unhealed or open scar, or where there is an active infection. If the scar is very new we start with an assessment and a conversation, not with treatment.
Times are approximate. Each session is adapted to your needs, the condition of the tissue and, where it applies, the stage of your recovery, so a session takes as long as it needs to be done properly. Before your first visit we go through a short consultation and a health form.
